Web design is the bread and butter of my business. Nobody ever budgets for an online marketing campaign, but for some reason or another, everybody has some sort of a budget for a website, no matter how small it might be. Now I’ve been building websites for individuals and companies of all sorts all over California (Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco) for the last 10 years.

If you haven’t jumped in head first by now but are looking to, ponder this for a moment: is a beautiful website going to generate money for your business without any traffic? Honestly, everyone always wants to spend thousands of dollars on having a professional design and develop an extravagant, over the top looking Flash animated website, but hasn’t a clue about how to market the site.

Better yet, everyone loves to host their grandiose website on GoDaddy’s $4.99 a month Economy Plan. Websites are money making tools first and foremost; every time it’s down, you’re losing money, a lot more money than the difference you’d pay to be on real web hosting. Don’t get me wrong, GoDaddy is great as a domain registrar, probably the best, but I don’t host my websites with them.

With that said, what I’m building you is a money making machine; my time and effort is to make you money. Websites are marketing tools with the means to capture leads, generate sales, and build your brand. Plan and budget for the big picture; don’t waste your time building a Flashy cartoon of a website that you can barely update and will end up looking old in a year anyway. Keep your mind on the money.
