Over the last 10 years, I’ve had a lot of people show interest in my web design and related services, but unfortunately price has played its role in dissuading a lot of my leads from moving forward. Honestly, I know I’m not the cheapest web designer in the greater Orange County and Los Angeles area; I will say that I’m fair. I make the effort to be aware of the market and price my work accordingly.
There’s always going to be someone out there who’s going to offer to do the work for a lot less, or maybe a lot more. I’ve had past clients tell me I charged them half of what large firms wanted to charge and that I was quite the bargain, while others claimed the exact opposite. I’m being realistic here; I live in an apartment, I drive a Japanese budget race car, and all my white tees have oil stains.
There’s no fortune to be made in web design; it’s just a decent living. I vouch for myself, no one else, and I’m confident that when I tell you I can make something work, it’ll happen. I don’t promise what I can’t deliver because to me, it’s not the end of the world to say that I can’t do it. It’s more important in my eyes for you to get what you need; happy relationships bring good fortune of a different sort.
