Madison 88 came to me for a basic XHTML/CSS website, nothing too complicated that would require a lot of updating and maintenance. A lot of times, when you’re working with a limited staff, the biggest challenge they face is finding the time to make regular updates.
Even in instances where a content management system is developed, training is still required, regardless of how intuitive it might be to use. With that said, we set two goals that were reasonable given the parameters set forth.
First, we wanted to showcase a good amount of product and second, by doing so we wanted to generate leads as a result. Using the infamous query light box plug-in, I created several product galleries for their scarves, knit socks, knit hats, hats and bags.
The website would mirror their print catalogs, the key difference being that a website is a much better lead generation tool. To ensure maximum exposure, I also search engine optimized the site based on a list of keywords derived from my keyword research.
